AnalogHub is a free knowledge base for analog IC designers, run by Aleksandr Sidun. This page says what the site collects, why, and what it never keeps. Questions or requests: contact@analoghub.ie.
Analytics and cookies
- Google Analytics counts visits and pages read, to see what is useful. It loads only if you click Accept on the cookie banner; then it sets Google's analytics cookies and sends Google your page views, browser details and an IP-based approximate location, under Google's privacy policy. Decline keeps it off: nothing is sent to Google.
- Your choice is remembered in a
cookie_consentcookie for a year. To change it, clear this site's cookies and the banner asks again.
GitHub sign-in (Write Article, Suggest a Topic)
Signing in with GitHub is optional and needed only to write an article or suggest a topic. The site keeps a session cookie with your GitHub access token for that session; it does not store your account details elsewhere. What you submit goes to GitHub under your account and is public there: an article becomes a pull request on the content repository, a suggestion a GitHub Discussion.
Schematic Sketch
- Your drawings and images are read on our server to produce the schematic. With your own free AI key (Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter), the image is also sent to that provider under its terms; their free tiers may use uploads to improve their models. Offline only in Settings keeps everything on our server.
- AI keys stay in your browser (
localStorage) and go only inside your Convert request; the server uses them for that request and never stores or logs them. - Board drawings are kept to train the offline reader. When you convert a drawing made on the board, we keep that drawing (its strokes and the image) to train and test our offline recognition model. We keep nothing else with it: no name, account, IP address, AI key or netlist. Uploaded images and photos, and netlists you type or edit, are never kept.
- Opting out: turn off Help train the offline reader in Settings; drawings converted after that are not kept. Because a kept drawing carries nothing that identifies you, we cannot find "your" drawings later; if you want one removed, email us a description or screenshot of it and we will delete matching drawings.
- In your browser the tool also remembers your drawing, the last netlist and your settings (
localStorage), until you clear them.
Kept drawings are stored on AnalogHub's own server, used only to build the offline reader, never sold or shared, and deleted when no longer needed for that.
